The Haileybury Society exists to assist and promote educational objects in connection with Haileybury and to form a strong bond of union between the School and its former pupils. Integral to the achievement of this aim is the promotion and maintenance of contact between former pupils, and between them and the School. Haileybury Youth Trust's Frugal Ball and Auction of Opportunity

Haileybury Youth Trust will launch an innovative, internet-based 'Auction of Opportunity' at its first Frugal Ball in Big School on Saturday 6th November, to raise funds for its Ugandan 'One Village at a Time' project. While the Ball will be frugal in frills, it will certainly not be frugal in fun! High quality entertainment is assured from a live band and disco and we will eat deliciously but simply, so others may simply eat. Tickets are £35 and available from Vanessa Farnfield (vanessafarnfield@gmail.com). OH's are particularly warmly invited to the Frugal Ball. The Auction of Opportunity is an auction of work experience placements for 16-24 year olds, where OH's, parents and friends will offer a placement from 3 days to 2 weeks. These will be sold to the highest bidder on an e-bay style internet site, with proceeds going to HYT's 'One Village at a Time' Appeal. HYT would be delighted to hear from any OH who might consider offering a work experience placement (you set the terms!) for HYT's first 'Auction of Opportunity', which is win-win for all concerned, not least the Haileyburians who will benefit from the placement and the Ugandans who will benefit from the proceeds of the auction.
