Online Support : How to add a Nickname to your Account

This article will explain how to add a nickname (also known as an alias), to your email for life account.

A nickname is another email address that belongs to your account. When an email is sent to your nickname, it is delivered to your main email address.

Your account might come with a number of free nicknames. You can also always pu r chase additional ones if you so desire, from our secure payment portal: http://www.hailsoc.net/payment. These additional nicknames can be useful for when names change after marriage or if you wish to have a disposable address for less trusted contacts.

To add or edit any nicknames, just open webmail and go to MY ACCOUNT > NICKNAMES. All you have to do is type in the nickname you want.

Nicknames are like giving your house a name. For example, let us say your address is 9 Colne Road, but you have put up a sign calling it The Orchard. Your address is still 9 Colne Road, and your post will still be delivered there, but it is also known as The Orchard.

You can update your nickname as much as you want, but when you update it, it will delete the old nickname. If email is then sent to the old nickname, it will be bounced back to the sender. The new nickname will work straight away.

You can also send emails from your nickname. For more information about this, and setting up multiple identities, click here.
